Dilbert and women

I like today's Dilbert - that is nothing new. I usually like the cartoons. Today's cartoon shows nicely how applying linear logic reasoning can lead to wrong conclusions.

All (new) boyfriends[1] are sexy and handsome[2] until the initial excitement is gone. But to conclude that one should not date handsome and sexy men is a bit short-sighted… Well, but I also sympathize with Dilbert. I would of course be good for “us”, if attractive young ladies would consider dating the ordinary, slightly over-weighted, “nice” men, too ;-)

But it is also worth commenting on the apparently stringent logic presented above:[3]
For instance most financially broke private households are divorced. Lending to couples is therefore risky. From a bank’s perspective, it would therefore be advisable not to lend to married couples because they are most likely to get divorced and thus financially broke.

[1] Apart from those, who are just chosen for materialistic or physical reasons. Those are obviously another category of boyfriends.

[2] I admit both lies in the eyes of the beholder and for neither of the both attributes general objectivity can be claimed.

[3] “If it rains, the street will be wet.” Does this also imply that “If the street is wet, it has rained before”?
